There are some 2d and 3d software which are very important and popular in interior design i.e

3ds Max

AUTOCAD – AutoCAD used for drawing with complete precision, this software is extremely useful if you need to draw technical drawings such as floor plans, electrical & plumbing  detailed drawings, furniture details, sectional elevations and you can also use it for modeling objects.

• Easy to edit : Before the age of computers, a designer would have to manually revise designs. You would have to create an entirely new draft or edit the draft you had, which could become messy and difficult to interpret. With AutoCAD, you can easily change and manipulate designs.

• Quick & authentic production: You can create a re-useable block library to replicate design parts. Got a window system that works well? Use it again.  Save it to your block library to increase efficiencies. Saved files can be used and re-used later, which makes the design process faster than if you did it by hand.

SKETCHUP  

SketchUp is a 3D modeling computer program for a wide range of drawing applications such as architectural, interior design, landscape architecture, civil and mechanical engineering, film and video game design.

In simple terms Sketchup is more about lines and not organic shapes or extreme detailing. SketchUp is often unfairly derided by some 3d artists.

SketchUp stripped out all the unnecessary complexity, the multitude of tools and the stuff most people just don’t need for 3d orthogonal modelling, and made it so fast and easy to work in 3D, and in a single window you could freely and naturally navigate around. It’s really fast to build things, and you don’t have to spend thousands of hours with it to be productive. If you don’t use it for say 6 months, you can go back to it, and you won’t have forgotten commands, functions or features.

SketchUp is software for people who need to build 3d models, but for whom 3d modelling is not their main vocation. However it is good enough for people who want to be professional visualisers. SketchUp is commonly used to collaboratively test, communicate and validate construction ideas as projects develop.

PHOTOSHOP

Photoshop is used by a variety of creative professionals in a variety of ways. It’s all about understanding how to use the software tools to achieve your desired effect.Using a combination of CAD software and Photoshop, you can create successful presentations and develop your design projects to a professional standard.

The software is fully compatible with your current design tools, whether you’re using AutoCAD to produce 2D drawings, or SketchUp to create 3D models. Both programs allow you to save your files as PDFs or JPEGs, enabling you to edit and render your concepts with Photoshop.

3DS MAX

3ds Max is a rendering software mainly used for design visualization, building and landscape, interior, graphic, industrial, product, exhibition, jewellery.

3Ds Max is not required unless you are doing high end residential or commercial design where clients are going to pay for your time to do the renderings. If you just need basic floor plans and perspectives, SketchUp is a good choice and Max might be overkill.
